BOGO Totems, Spells for Sale, & Everything Else You Should Never Buy on The Internet

I apologize for not posting in a week or two. Up until yesterday morning I was recovering from some terrible stomach plague and had no energy for anything.

Cue the pity tears.

During my time on my death bed, I found myself swiping on Tinder for a doctor that could explain why I was dying, as well as cleaning up my inbox.

I subscribe to a lot of, ahem, interesting websites.

I try to keep up with the stranger occult and paranormal communities as having a finger on that creepy pulse keeps things lively! Also, I just really enjoy some of the “seriousness” that’s out on those sites & forums… Oh, the people you’ll meet!

There’s one particular site that leaves me scratching my head every time one of their emails slithers into my inbox.

Haunted Curiosities is a forum and online store that specializes in “rare” and “unique” “occult” items. You can find everything ranging from totems to a retreat in the woods with included spiritual cleansing.

Please note that certain keywords in the above paragraph are in quotes for a very specific reason:

In between bouts of vomiting, I dug around in their shop. Not only are the items for sale promising the greatest power, luck, wealth, love, & even immortality.

What’s even more interesting is that each item basically has a short story depicting the great lengths the shopkeepers went to to procure said item, and if that doesn’t make you scoff then the price points for these items will.

Now, I know what you’re thinking “but, girl… nobody is stupid enough to fall for that shit. Or at least no one has that kind of money to just throw at this crap”.

You’d be surprised.

I did some more digging and the craigslist of complaints, Ripoffreport.com, turned up quite a few reports on the shady-shady of Haunted Curiosities.

Not only was I surprised to see that people were spending their hard earned cash on the junk that this site was hashing out, but there were many instances in which a person repeatedly patronized the site trying to get something out of their purchase.

It was pretty sad.

Beyond this site, I found a whole section on Ripoff Report for people who were swindled out of big bucks by shady paranormal investigators and supposed mystics. This ranged from a few bucks for a bad psychic reading, all the way up to several thousands of dollars for repeated “cleanings” in order to prevent “predicted” terrible fates from befalling their loved ones.

I suppose there’s a lesson to be learned here.

Like, never ever shell out loads of hard earned cash for spiritual experiences or items in hopes that they will be the answer to all your problems. I know things can get rough some times, but going all-in with your faith in tow can only lead to disappointments.

This is not to discourage you from going to get your palm read or your tarot cards shuffled every once in a while. As long as you’re not relying on it to solve all your problems in life, I think you’re good. But beware of any psychic who would give you good news and then immediately push you to drop more cash for more answers.

Not worth your time, bro.

I think this suffices to say that you should avoid purchasing any and all of the aforementioned Β items/services online. Solely because I don’t want to see your lovely name on Ripoff Report, baby. πŸ™‚

So, tell me, what sort of crazy shady stuff have you seen online? What’s the craziest story of spiritual swindling you’ve ever heard? Have you ever been a victim of such? It’s okay, I’m here to support you and hunt those sons of bitches down. πŸ™‚Β

‘Til next time!

That’s a Wrap: Farewell, George Romero

I spent my Sunday watching home haunt documentaries, that I fully intended to write-up on Vespertine House this evening. At some point in the last one I watched, I found myself rolling my eyes at yet another zombie-themed haunt.

I then had a moment of reflection on the modern-day zombie renaissance we’ve had the last few years. It seems that everywhere you look there are zombies.

We see them shambling out of the Halloween and Horror niches and into everyday life. They’ve invaded our television sets, music, fashion, games– even quirky bumper stickers have a booming zombie-loving demographic. Ultimately I shook my head and murmured “people and their fucking zombies”.

Of all days to have such a thought, it had to be the day that the father of the modern-day zombie passed away.

From what started as Barbara’s screams in an old cemetery in 1968, and ended with another Trixie virus outbreak in 2010, George Romero proved again and again that he could orchestrate zombie fear amongst the masses with the utmost finesse.

Romero adapted the zombie creature and its origins to fit a more modern-day audience. His concept was far removed from the original Voodoo zombie seen in classic Horror films like “I Walked With a Zombie”. His formula has stood the test of time as it’s applied in the majority of the zombie Horror we see today.

I’m happy to say that I learned a lot about good cinema from watching his films. I also learned that it’s good to not be serious about everything all the time and that you can absolutely serve up your Horror with a side of fun.

It’s with a sad keystroke that I say goodbye to yet another film legend. But I’m happy to know that he will never be forgotten.

So, the next time a zombie shuffles across a silver screen or a protagonist nervously discovers that a strange virus is bringing the dead back to life, smile and think of George. His greatest gift is the incredible Horror legacy that he’s left us with.

Sweet Spooks: A Refresher in Burns

I haven’t been ignoring you’ve, I’ve just been swept in a whirlwind of asinine things. πŸ˜‘

You know how it goes.

Anyways! I hope you guys have been well! I’m doing alright, typical days follow over here- job hunting, naps, working, more naps…

My butt hurts, and I need a nap.

πŸ˜€All is right in the world!

I haven’t had any inspiration to do any makeups since last fall and it’s been killing me. πŸ˜”

Fortunately, the wheels began turning once more, and I decided to refresh my makeup phalanges with a basic burn on Sarah Jr.!

This was fun and I was able to use some of the Devinah Cosmetics for the entire paint! They’re really brilliantly pigmented and worked so well for this! 😍

I need to work on physiology and the human anatomy aspect of my makeups because I can never get a dental piece to sit naturally. πŸ˜©πŸ˜”

A work in progress I reckon!

I plan on doing another makeup very soon especially for Valentine’s Day! 😏

So what have you guys been up to? What are you planning for V Day? I still love You.πŸ’œ

Update Part Deux

Happy Holidays everyone! πŸŽ„πŸ˜€

Whatever you’re celebrating this season I hope it involves lots of love and loved ones.πŸ’œ

I had intended to blog a lot more a lot sooner, but had some major drama go down with my poor sweet IPad. πŸ˜” suffice it to say, I no longer have my original iPad and am coming to you from a new one. The old one was replaced after the brutes at Ubreakifix broke the WiFi on my old one. πŸ˜’

Happy to say I’m done with them and back in action!

I’ve also been busy with work and maxing out my credit card. πŸ˜€πŸ”ͺπŸ›

But now! Now I’m back!

I hope you all have been well and I still have lots of Halloween giveaway stuff to do! More than likely will have some contests coming up for you in the new year! β˜ΊοΈπŸ’œ

I have a few cool things to share too!

Stay tuned! πŸ’œπŸ¦„

Everyday is Halloween Here

I haven’t updated since Halloween I don’t think!

For that I’m sorry. πŸ˜”

But! On the upside! I’m here now! πŸ€— so I’m here, you’re here- it’s a party! πŸŽ‰πŸ•

The last few weeks have been kinda crazy but I’m here to tell you that I will definitely be bavk to all the blog by goodness starting now! β˜ΊοΈπŸ’œπŸŽƒ

And yes, Halloween and horror will still come first at Vespertine House!

So my Halloween was fun! Our trick r treaters loved the decor and creepy candy guillotine ☺️ we didn’t have nearly as many as we had planned for, so we had a ton of candy left haha!

The party was a blast! My guests loved the nacho bar and treats! We also had a great time playing Trick R Treat bingo!πŸ€—πŸ’œ I gave out lots of tricks and treats which was fun. Everyone had a blast!

Since Halloween ended I slipped into PHDD (post Halloween depression disorder) and was sad about November coming so quick! Since then I’ve been busy with lots of stuff including starting a new job. ☺️

As for me, things are good and I’m still doing SFX stuff! I’m just trying to come up with ideas right now. ☺️ my gashed finge has since healed up to a nasty pair of scars! πŸ€—πŸ’œ unfortunately, there’s a slight chance I’ve accumulated some nerve damage as the pain I was hoping would heal with the wound has remained and may remain for a good long while. Fortunately, it only really hurts when I bend it fully. Which is kinda hard not to do for lots of stuff lol. ☺️ but it’s not that bad and I’m fine! In other news, my knee has recovered 100%! πŸ™ƒπŸ’œπŸŽ‰

So, now we’re current on all things me! ☺️

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time on Periscope because it’s just too much fun! I’ll be posting updates here about when I decide to go live with makeup tutorials and movie broadcasts too! So, if you have the app I hope you’ll join me! πŸ’œβ˜ΊοΈ because it’ll be fun to chat and do fun things together! β˜ΊοΈπŸ’œ

Periscope: @Sarahseado or find me on Twitter at the same handle and look for my scope tweets!

I also have a bunch of stuff to giveaway! Three Halloween party favor bags to be exact! πŸ€—πŸ’œπŸŽ‰ I’ll think up a cool contest to run this week.

Til then! Tell me what have you been up to and how was your halloweeny?! Love you.πŸ’œπŸŽƒ

The Scope of Things: Do You Wanna Watch a Movie With Me?Β

I just downloaded Periscope a couple days ago due to sheer curiosity. ☺️

I realized it’s actually a lot of fun and interacting on there is a blast and a half! πŸ˜€

I got to thinking and decided I’d ask you guys about this: would you all be interested in coming to private scopes I schedule just for us? I was thinking I could maybe set it up so we watch a movie together on there, and I’ll answer Q’s you all may have and we can discuss the film and different things.☺️ I was also thinking of doing some Sweet Spook tutorials to help get you guys ready for Halloween and show you some of the techniques and products I’ve been using! πŸ˜€πŸ‘»

If you’d be interested, let me know in the comments! That way we can schedule a monster movie night or tutorial before Halloween! πŸŽƒπŸ’œ

So, tell me what you’d like to see! And if you’re at all interested, when the best days and times are for you for something like that! β˜ΊοΈπŸ’œ
